Police Lobby Investigation Into A Fire Incident At The Home Of Azimio Politician.

Police in Bungoma have launched investigations into a fire incident where the gate of Azimio Politician Zachariah Barasa was burnt to ashes.
According to Martin Nyongesa, brother and aide to Barasa, the fire broke out in the wee hours of Sunday night after several shoot outs.
The family says an urgent call was made to police with no response but the arsonists left without entering the home.
He has linked the fire to a possible political witch-hunt against Barasa, who is contesting for the Bungoma Gubernatorial seat on a DAPK ticket and his stern opposition against the ongoing demolition of businesses in Bungoma town.
“Our candidate is being attacked left right and center because of his zeal to stand with traders who are being evicted from town,” he said.
Zachariah Barasa is now demanding for thorough investigation and prosecution of those who were involved in the arson.
“My home is my private property which has nothing to do with politics,” he said.
Barasa has affirmed that he will not relent in defending residents of Bungoma despite efforts to intimidate him.
His home is located in Musikoma village on the outskirts of Bungoma town. He was not at his rural home when the incidence occurred.
