President Ruto's Visit to Mwatate: A Catalyst for Change and Community Development

In a momentous occasion for the community of Mwatate Ward, the President of Kenya, H.E. William Samoei Ruto, visited ACK St. Peters Bura for a church service, providing not only spiritual guidance but also a promise of significant developmental strides for the region. The provision of the school bus particularly resonated with Woman Representative Lydia Haika, who stressed its importance for gender equality in education. “With this bus, our girls will have a safer journey to school, which encourages them to pursue their studies without fear or difficulty,” she stated.

Mwatate MP Peter Shake expressed his gratitude, emphasizing that transportation has been a major barrier to education for many families in the region. “This bus will make a huge difference for our students who have struggled with long and difficult commutes,” he noted.

Beyond education, President Ruto outlined a broader vision for the region’s economic and infrastructural development. A key highlight was his promise to launch an iron ore factory, which is expected to bring numerous job opportunities and stimulate local industry. “The iron ore factory will be a game-changer for Mwatate, providing jobs and boosting our local economy,” President Ruto said.
