The Roads, Transport, and Housing Committee sat on Friday and was Chaired by Sen. Karungo Paul Thangwa and Vice Chairperson Sen. Pesi Peris Tobiko, the committe membership was represented by Sen. Nderitu John Kinyua, Sen. Chute Mohamed , Sen.Steve Ltumbesi ,Sen. Wambua Enoch , Sen. Sifuna Edwin also present were Senator Samson Cherargei, Senator Okiya Omtatah, and senator Ledama Ole Kina
The committee fully backed the Senate’s stance, urging the government, especially Cabinet Secretary for Energy Davis Chirchir, to abandon the Adani deal.
The Senate emphasized that Kenyans have out rightly rejected the deal, and it poses significant risks to national security. The message is clear: the government must act swiftly to protect Kenya’s critical national assets and respond to the public outcry by terminating the Adani negotiations.
