United Democratic Alliance Party has commenced sensitization of its delegates and aspirants in the upcoming elections in a bid to facilitate a good flow of information to grassroots.
Speaking at Siritamu Hotel in Bungoma county, Marvin Wamukota from the party top Governing Authority said the party needs to gain popularity at grassroots so that it continues to shine at National level.
“We want to strengthen the party from grassroots to National level since so that people own the party,” he said.
He also used the opportunity to highlight that contestants for different positions must meet the criteria of the UDA electoral guidelines in order to allow internal competition.
“It is through this election that we shall get the participants of the National Elections so it will be transparent enough to all contestants,” he said.
His sentiments were reiterated by Tim Lukorito from Bungoma county who cited the importance of the upcoming elections to the growth of the party.
“The elections promote internal Democracy which makes it even easier to handle general elections,” he said.
It should be noted that UDA went to 2022 general elections without clear party structures but still won the presidency.
Members have exuded confidence of a high margin of victory if the party members will elect grassroot leaders peacefully.
The grassroot leaders have also pledged their support for current Secretary General Cleophas Malala in the National Elections.
