After approximately two years since he left office , Former Taita Taveta Governor Alias “Mshapa” has for the first time come out publicly to send a sincere message of apology to the Residents of Taita Taveta (DATUZENs) .

The Message was published on his official facebook page as the former governor and Media Mogul was seen on happy mood passing his Christmas greetings to his friends , family and the general public .

Granton Samboja Won 2017 Election against popular politicians including the First Governor John Mrutu , ruling for 4 years with extreme criticism over development from both the local activists and politicians .

Like any other leaders Samboja faced objection from on his development plans including Voi City Rehabilitation and Market expansion , the then upraising rebellion from the local business community was clear indication of the genesis of his problems .

Not knowing that was just a fraction of his problems as more was yet to materialize with blessings from local political class who were evidently eying his throne.

Talking of the local politicians … a number of them allegedly forged unity to bring his regime down noting that sponsoring an impeachment motion was not enough new strategies had to be formed to weaken his popularity and influence in the region .

For some reason best known to Samboja’s close associates , there was a reason for the former governor to distance himself from his deputy as it was alleged there were plans to paralyze him from within .

It is believed that the endless problems that clouded Samboja’s leadership eventually costed him his seat since the locals who he was once a darling in began hating if not bad mouthing him , his closest political associates started distancing themselves from him .

But As they Say pride comes before downfall , for Mshapa’s Case , where was the problem ?

1. Taita Taveta locals elected Granton Samboja in 2017 believing he will change their social status and address their problems.
2. Samboja is still acknowledged by Taita Taveta locals as the most generous politician and leader
3. Samboja’s government had given priority to the youth
4. Samboja is perceived to be a leader who listen to people and act immediately

DEMERITS

1. Granton Samboja’s team comprised of the youth was not trusted by the locals ( Electorates )
2. His Cabinet was perceived to be allegedly corrupt
3. Community felt and still feels Samboja’s leadership team and close associates were not honest concerning community’s concerns and demand.
4. Community believe that the former governor trusted his Associates than the community .
5. Community Believe Samboja’s associates costed him his seat.

As it is said human is to error and every human being deserves a second chance , perhaps the Sincere Christmas apology might work for the Second Governor of Taita Taveta Granton Graham Samboja . As from Prime Africa , we wish him all the best.
