Java House Africa has officially opened its doors in Voi, marking a significant milestone in the expansion of one of Kenya’s most beloved coffee house chains. The grand opening ceremony, held on May 31, 2024, was officiated by Deputy Governor of Taita Taveta Christine Kilalo, bringing together local officials, business leaders, and residents.
The event kicked off with a ribbon-cutting ceremony led by Deputy Governor Kilalo, who expressed her excitement about the new addition to the county’s commercial landscape.

Kilalo highlighted the economic benefits, including job creation and increased tourism, that Java House is expected to bring to the region.
The hospitality industry’s expansion is expected to accelerate in line with domestic travel demand, with customers seeking convenient dining experiences that meet their dietary needs and provide access to their favourite establishments wherever they go.
According to Java House, industry stakeholders will need to be agile and customer-centric in order to satisfy this increased demand. Speaking at the launch of a new Java House Express in Voi, Taita Taveta County, Priscilla Gathungu, the Java House CEO, noted the need for restaurants to evolve alongside their customers.
