In what started as push for “Development narrative” from pro-2024 FINACE BILL MPs across the country has left them clandestine and vulnerable to the public .
In a tag of war between the MPs and the taxpayers over who is right over what is right for the people created a huge division in the parliament , a section of MPs being forced to reject the bill as the majority seen willingly endorsing it against the public will .
At least six MPs from the coastal part of the country endorsed the bill against their voter’s will , among them were Mwatate MP Peter Shake and Taveta MP John Bwire .
On several occasion Taveta MP John Bwire was seen boldly endorsing the finance bill despite evident public uproar , insisting that the Bill was for the benefit of the commoner . In his statements he defended his actions by lamenting over bad roads and infrastructure in the area.
According to Bwire the Njukini – Jipe road tarmacking was one of the key reasons why he endorsed the Bill .
However due to public pressure led by the nationwide Anti-2024 Finance Bill demonstration , President William Ruto rejected the bill , a move that came along with backlash to the Pro-Finance Bill MPs from the general public.
Recently Mwatate MP Peter Shake received a hostile reception in his constituency after two months of absence. The opposition legislator was booed and heckled by mourners as he tried to defend himself for supporting the controversial Finance Bill 2024, forcing him to cut short his speech.
On the other hand Taveta MP John Bwire , have been receiving hackle from the locals , despite holding number of public events issuing checks and gifts to perhaps soften the hearts of the angry public , pressure from his critics has been growing as recently a section of youths Led by Popular Muhuri Activist Kelly Oduor stormed his Taveta offices among other facilities demanding his resignation.
However Bwire has not taken it easy citing political competitors are taking advantage of the 2024 Finance Bill Blunder . He has been recently been reacting in public events and on his social media spaces throwing blame to a section of local politicians and business men .
The controversial Bill saw several MPs going against their Party leader’s stand , what has led to different political parties to initiate disciplinary actions against the members who Voted “YES ” .
John Bwire who vied and won Taveta parliamentary seat through wiper party ticket has lately been seen associating with UDA political leaders and even heard publicly apologizing to the president over Taveta Land demonstration which he led in early 2023 , promising to work closely with the government.
Recently the Lawyer has been drumming for the government in his functions what evidently contrary to his party leader Kalonzo Musyoka .
The former Vice President has lately disagreed with his co-principal Raila Odinga on the Idea of working with the government over restructuring of what is termed an inclusive government.
Prime Africa Channel has established that the Taveta MP John Bwire has been sending aggressive messages to text messages a section of leaders of Taita Taveta including former MP Basil Criticos , accusing him of fueling public rage by sponsoring youth Protests.
However the Lake Jipe Conservancy Boss rubbished the allegations terming them baseless and a clear act of desperation from the MP.
“Why should i fund a protests ? , for what benefits ? I can’t orchestrate demonstration . I have respect to leaders and the rule of Law ” Said Basil Criticos .
